"talk to the hot dog, it can read your mind"

Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show

I was watching a video of Joe Kittinger jumping from a balloon gondola in 1960 from twenty miles up when I noticed a link to a video uploaded this past February by Mediocre Films. It has gone viral and now has well over a million hits. A second episode produced for David Spade's Showbiz Show was yanked from YouTube, but portions now reside on the Comedy Central website. In early May, a music video excerpt, "JUICY!" was posted on YouTube. Kiko, the Engrish speaking host of the show has an obligatory MySpace page and is in real life the persona of Korean-American actress Kim Evey. There is a rumored Gorgeous Tiny Chicken Machine Show pilot in the works.

Bobby in San Diego (classic view)

Flickrvision

The Ides of May saw the debut of Flickrvision. It's an animated display in real-time of pictures uploaded to the photo sharing website Flickr superimposed on your choice of a world map (classic view) or globe (3D view). Mesmerizing and unnerving at the same time. A nice screensaver substitute for an unattended computer at least. It can be addicting.

Pie in the sky

Patsy-cake

"Millimetres Matter", a catapult tossing fly-size pies at insects. It's Samsung's viral marketing for their new Ultra II "slimmest in the world" mobile phones. Zooillogix claims it's real and Samsung claims no insects were harmed in the making. Looking for human targets? There's the Famous Pied Faces List, you can find heaping helpings of photos and clips of notable pieings and a list of the 100 Best Pie Scenes of All Time. For historical political pieings there's Pieman, the Biotic Baking Brigade, and the subversion that is "Pie in the sky."

Design your own ice cream

Ecreamery creates specialty ice creams customized to your specifications. You get to choose: 8, 12, or 14% milk fat; 1 or 2 of their over 50 flavors; 1 or 2 of their over 60 toppings; and a name for your creation. Depending on the number of flavors and toppings, a regular order (4 quarts) is $79.95-99.95 and a sampler (4 pints) is $49.95-59.95; plus FedEx shipping. Ecreamery is based in Omaha but their ice cream is made in the Village Creamery in Niles and Skokie. You'll receive your order in 7-10 days or you can pick it up. Ecreamery has been in Chicagoland for over a decade but traces its roots back to the Philippines (maybe that explains the Clove, Hot Pepper, and Saffron flavors). Pittsburgh's Reinhold Ice Cream recently unveiled customicecreamcreations. Their prices are better, $45.00 plus shipping for 6 quarts; but Ecreamery has them beat on flavors and toppings. Me, I long for the taste of Leon's Frozen Custard over down by the 27th Street Viaduct in Milwaukee. It was allegedly the inspiration for Arnold's Drive-In from teevee's Happy Days. They don't have a webpage so you know it's good.

Put your message on the map

Kemosabe

Most e-cards are tiresome at best. Now you can deliver a singular satellite view flash animated smoke signal arising from the location of your choice. Alternatively you can etch a crop circle with your message. Kudos to IntenCT in the Netherlands.
