Is there anything you can't sell on Craigslist?

The Rise of the Snowmen

Smithsonian Magazine ran an article last month about pre-Frosty exploitation entitled "Snowman Gone Wild". The author has also penned a book "The History of the Snowman" and runs a website called Today's Snowman. Some of the article illustrations may have come from the Guinness World Record largest snowmen collection (3,000 and counting). Last December also saw the return of Snowzilla and the erection of The World's Tallest SnowWoman. If you want the real deal try Cryptomundo's Abominable Snowman Category. For more cultured snowmen try the Calvin and Hobbes Snow Art Gallery. But I, for one, welcome the "Invaders from the Ice World!".

Obamicon.me

Tired of Obamania on teevee this week? Make your own "Obamicon", your image in a style inspired by Shepard Fairey's iconic Obama poster. Take a webcam picture or upload a photo, choose a message, and submit to the gallery. After you've finished creating, download your image, buy products emblazoned with it, or browse the gallery to rate and comment on other Obamicons. In 1989, street artist Frank Shepard Fairey and friends created the Andre the Giant Has a Posse skateboard art phenomenon by clandestinely and fanatically posting stickers across the Eastern United States. Following a lawsuit threat from Titan Sports, Inc. over the copyrighted name Andre the Giant, Fairey created the iconic OBEY Giant which propagated globally and engendered a small design empire Fairey runs out of Los Angeles.

Online Kaleidoscopes

Or perhaps more correctly a digital or virtual kaleidoplex. Create your own kaleidoscope in realtime as you drag and drop pieces onto a playing surface. Zefrank's "byokal" is viralling around right now. It looks like an upgrade from "homepage fractals13" which he created for Shelda's mom. There's other kaleidoscopes online like permadi's Kaleidoscope Painter or PBS's Kaleidoscope Cut-Outs.
