The elusive Spudway website..... Posted by Picasa

Weapons of Mashed Destruction

Spudguns. Not the Christian punk band, not the Irish graphic designers, and not the Drambuie, Vodka, and Beer concoction. Spudguns aka potato cannons (or produce accelerators) are recreational launching devices usually made of PVC or metal. There are compressed gas, combustible fuel vapor, and hybrid spudguns. 100 yards is a common distance. A spudgun is OK with the ATF but regulated in some states and most cities. Popular projectiles include fresh or frozen potatoes and produce; tennis or golf balls; glow in the dark items for night use; and virtually anything you can imagine (see Beavis and Butthead). You can build a spudgun for $20 and up, or buy one for $50 and up. There's a spuducopia of spudgun sites with a sampling below. Confused and looking for a less ominous handheld "potato gun"? Archie Mcphee has got 'em, two for $5.95.
