A pair of Texas 26-year-olds are asking every American to send them a dollar, and have created GiveUsABuck.com. Following a December 20 debut they have raised $75 towards their goal of $300 million, barely visible on the site's Buck-O-Meter. For your dollar you get to post a message and/or photo and/or advertising. Sounds creative but it's probably just a pale imitation of MillionDollarHomepage.com, a tuition scheme by a 21-year-old Nottingham University student unveiled in August which has already garnered a Wikipedia entry. For $1 per pixel with a 10x10 ($100) minimum he will display whatever image/text you specify (within your block of pixels) for the next five years. As of this writing he's collected $911,800.
