Design your own ice cream

Ecreamery creates specialty ice creams customized to your specifications. You get to choose: 8, 12, or 14% milk fat; 1 or 2 of their over 50 flavors; 1 or 2 of their over 60 toppings; and a name for your creation. Depending on the number of flavors and toppings, a regular order (4 quarts) is $79.95-99.95 and a sampler (4 pints) is $49.95-59.95; plus FedEx shipping. Ecreamery is based in Omaha but their ice cream is made in the Village Creamery in Niles and Skokie. You'll receive your order in 7-10 days or you can pick it up. Ecreamery has been in Chicagoland for over a decade but traces its roots back to the Philippines (maybe that explains the Clove, Hot Pepper, and Saffron flavors). Pittsburgh's Reinhold Ice Cream recently unveiled customicecreamcreations. Their prices are better, $45.00 plus shipping for 6 quarts; but Ecreamery has them beat on flavors and toppings. Me, I long for the taste of Leon's Frozen Custard over down by the 27th Street Viaduct in Milwaukee. It was allegedly the inspiration for Arnold's Drive-In from teevee's Happy Days. They don't have a webpage so you know it's good.
