The nova in Scorpius

Watch The Skies

There's a nova in Scorpius visible by the naked-eye right now. Just discovered this month, it's below Jupiter looking south-southeast just before dawn. SkyTonight has an online almanac you can use to determine when and where for your location. Your Sky at Fourmilab can also give you a sky map, horizon view, and virtual telescope for your place and time. Don't forget the total lunar eclipse on March 3-4, you can use the US Navy's Lunar Eclipse Computer to find the when in your area. There were two Near Earth Object approaches today, and there will be one during the eclipse according to NASA's Earth Close-Approaches webpage. SpaceWeather can also give you information about these; plus solar flares, auroras, and the mystery rocket burn over Australia last night. But remember, The Earth Is Not Moving, your heliocentric beliefs are a carefully crafted Bible-bashing lie.
