A political comment on the left?

Linguisticuffs

An open-source filter software that can detect rampant stupidity in written English. Eternal September was bad enough, but with the advent of user-driven web content, the creators of the StupidFilter Project were driven to action. The current plan is to release source code for incorporation into content management systems, blogs, wikis, etc. Firefox and Wordpress plugins are also planned. To avoid eliminating all human discourse, the StupidFilter will rank text in a manner similar to spam detection engines. Based on prose style alone, the StupidFilter will identify self-evident stupidity; comments with too much or too little capitalization, too many text-message abbreviations, excessive use of "LOL," exclamation points, and so on. The StupidFilter Project needs help compiling a weighted corpus of idiotic comments and you can apply to become a moderator. Not to worry, The StupidFilter Project assures all, it will "cheerfully approve an eloquent, properly-capitalized defense of mandatory, state-subsidized rocket-launcher ownership for all schoolchildren."

The StupidFilter Demo rated the paragraph above as "Text is not likely to be stupid." Go figure.
