Extraterrestrial Broadcaster 3000

Using Windows Live Messenger (free to download) you can now send your e-mail to AlienChat@hotmail.com and it will be broadcast into space via microwave parabolic antenna satellite dish. The webmaster (who never shows his face in the embedded YouTube video) says he's contacted what sounds like 12 different alien species and you should receive an Audio message within a few seconds. Looking for another free cyberpig in a poke? Mike Goodwin says he'll create and e-mail you drawings on request.

Leia's Metal Bikini

Princess Leia's slave-girl costume debuted on screen in 1983 in Star Wars Return of the Jedi and at science fiction conventions within months. It has since evolved into thousands of online and offline fantasies as evidenced by this website. The perfect gift for Fido

In the suburbs of Lansing, Earl's (Earl, the dog's) master is wearing a Innotek ADV-300 dog training collar. For $1 (mild) or $4 (severe) you can shock him (or prevent a shock from occurring). He has a webcam (and video podcasts) and of course the obligatory web tee shirts. It's either a hoax or a bizarre twist on the classic Stanley Milgram experiments. If you live in Holt, Michigan you can also try reaching Shock The Man on the 27 MHz band. Looking for an animal friendly freebie this week? Try Bunny Yawns.

Save or Screw the Old Screech

Dustin Diamond, the geeky Samuel "Screech" Powers on the '90s sitcom "Saved by the Bell" nowadays lives over up by Port Washington, Wisconsin. Or at least he will be for the near future, after receiving a foreclosure notice on his land contract he's hawking tee shirts (hopefully 30,000 of them) online to save his house. Enter Ryan "screwscreech.com" who says he'll use his tee shirt money to pay off and fix-up his small house; and throw one hell of an expensive party to celebrate with all who donated. Now Ryan won't tell me his last name, and Screech has free ringtones. But then maybe I'll stick with my faded "Wilkebillies" tee shirt and go to the Port Washington "World's Largest One Day Outdoor Fish Fry" on July 15.
