Your Pisicapturist

You Can Get There From Here

Please be advised that on April 17, 2009, Scott Langill's Catch of the Day moved upstream from the Old Improved Catch of the Day site to the New Improved Catch of the Day site. If you're trawling for Classic Catch of the Day Archives, all the Catches from January 2005 to this posting are still accessible at the Old Improved Catch of the Day. Catches from April 1, 2009 to date are available at the New Improved Catch of the Day.

Alice loses her shoe in Nightmare on Elm Street 4

One-Shoe Scenes

"Droppedit" has compiled a list of over five hundred moments in motion pictures and television where women lose one (or more) shoe(s). The "prime list" of over one hundred entries of inadvertent and uncontrolled loss of footwear by female character, in the aftermath of which she cannot retrieve her errant shoe and has to go on one shoe on, one shoe off. The second, larger list consists of other shoe loss or one-shoe scenes that do not fit this criterion. It's hard to tell if Droppedit's focus is on shoes, feet, or some other sort of somatosensory cortical Cinderella Complex. And if Feeture Features aren't your thing, there's always the Flaming Garbage Cans In Hip Hop Videos Blog.

Dork Yearbook

It's only about a week old but the viral link of the week appears to be Dork Yearbook. "The way we wish we weren't." They take user submissions, but I'm not sure if Steve Wozniak really submitted the photo of his science fair parallel computing project.

Los Disneys Desktop Wallpaper Too

Los Disneys 2.0

After a nearly 10-year hiatus, the cult classic first-person shooter game is back, this time for Windows and Linux, as well as Macs; and it's available for free download. You'll find yourself a decade from now and The Walt Disney Company has purchased Florida. Your job is to infiltrate the Magic Kingdom, blasting your way through animatronic pirates, holographic ghosts, clowns, kids, camera-toting tourists, security guards; and even Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Your objective, seek and destroy the frozen head of Walt Disney and stop Michael Eisner's doomsday device. For the game averse there's always downloadable screensavers, artwork, and souvenirs available.

Peeps on acid

100 Ways To Kill A Peep

America has begun its annual consumption of 700 million marshmallow Peeps. One notable new website entry in the Peepapalooza is 100 Ways To Kill A Peep where users submit photographs of their own Peep killings. They're only up to 17 so far but there's still 13 days until Easter. For more Peep Genocide there's still a bellyache full of links at The Big List of Peeps Links. Sadly Wham-O no longer sells their Marshmallow Peeps Maker to make your own peeps, but Buycostumes.com sells a Peeps costume in Adult, Toddler, and Infant sizes. For more candy theology see Power to the Peeps (Catch of the Day from March 6, 2006).
